Is direct primary care right for you?

...now in
the Greater
Hartford area...

Patients seek medical care for different reasons and I am thrilled that you are exploring the idea of joining a direct primary care practice that will only house 200 patients. A typical primary care physician in America takes care of 2200. There are only so many hours in a day. You do the math! You want to be the focus of your physician's hour, not just  her13 minutes.

Direct primary care practices do not contract with insurers or government payers or third-party administrators. For workers, insurance might be both offered and paid for, but for many it comes at an inordinately high price. Many patients don't appreciate their insurance company choosing who they can see, how they can see them, when they can see them.  Nobody appreciates an outsider deciding what sorts of tests can or cannot be ordered. If you've ever been on the phone for 43 minutes trying to understand your benefits, it can be painful.  Personally trying to explain why my patient needs a test to an albeit polite  insurance company employee who sends me down a 47 minute long phone tree is not why I attended medical school .  You can feel my frustration and I can feel yours. Let's get the middle man out of it. Take some control today. Direct primary care in Rocky Hill is within reach.

In addition to the personal rewards , your colleagues, neighbors, friends and family will likewise reap the benefits. Society should thank you as a  patient at a direct primary care practice  because participants experience 40% less emergency room visits, lower inpatient admission rates, and a statistically significant reduction in overall demand for healthcare services  in the  2020 Society of Actuaries' "Direct Primary Care Evaluating a New Model of Delivery  and Financing." This frees up my emergency medicine colleagues to  care for unforeseen emergencies such as motor vehicle crashes. Meanwhile, you and I can be focusing on preventing  future illnesses, nipping them in the bud, and increasing your lifespan, your fun span, and your sex span.

Carpe diem? let's make the most of today and seize your future

You might wonder why I'm not wearing a helmet in this  winter photo. I'm wondering the same thing, but I lived to tell you about that grand day on the hill! I would also  love to tell you more about preventing falls, preventing trauma, preventing illness, preventing need for pharmaceuticals, preventing bowel problems, preventing heart disease, preventing strokes, preventing diabetes,  and preventing dementia.  Even preventing depression and other forms of mental illness is a real possibility now that we know more about diet and exercise. Come in and share your thoughts with me, a board certified family physician who has "been there done that" in most medical settings and is eager to be your mentor on your path to recovery and rejuvenation and making big plans for a healthier and happy future!
